Hmmm

So, remember how I said to bear with me while I learn the ropes of this whole blogging thing? Well, being new to blogging shouldn't equate being new to common sense, but it seems mine done peaced out on me. The thing about a nail polish blog is that you need to feature nail polish on it, which means you need to have swatches for your posts, of which, hey, would probably be a good idea to have a few in the vault so you aren't changing your mani every day. Did NOT think of that. So. I'm bulking up on swatches and hope to have some ready to go for launch soon. Thanks for your patience, all 22 of you page-viewers.

Greetings, Earthlings

Well, hello there. Welcome to a new nail polish blog! I hope to use this little corner of the 3 dubs to share with you all the pretties I have accumulated over the years, as well as any future pretties I will acquire. There are 5 new colors on their way to me right this minute! Have you discovered the joy of nail mail yet? I hadn't, not until recently, when I started following nail blogs, and my Sally Hansen/OPI/China Glaze/Essie/etc world was opened up to the fabulousness of frankens and foreigners! Talk about an eye-opening (and bank account draining!!) revelation!

Anyhoodles, I'm excited to start this blogging thing. Please bear with me as I stumble about for a bit while learning the ropes. I'm not entirely sold on "The Polishinator" as a name, but all my other ideas are already in use, damn those like-minded individuals. Hopefully I'll be able to change it if some new bit of brilliance smacks me upside the head. No biggie if not.  I'll adjust.

This first post is coming partly from my phone (I less than 3 you, Apple!) because that's where my first swatches are. I'll probably eventually use an actual camera, but I kind of like these phone photos.  It's nice to see manis photographed in a light box, but I'm interested in what the polish will look like in the real world.  Know what I mean?

May I present to you, ladies (and maybe gents?), Gummy Worm from Enchanted Polish!

Awkward bottle grip much?
"Free Nail Polish"  Not what you hope it means.
Hey, look.  I have matching freckles!
And one more with the bottle

What?

You don't pose with Rose Salve for your swatches?

I do.

I used it on my cuticles right before these pictures.

Indirect indoor lighting.
Hey, glare, why don't you show up right in the middle of my nails?
More sunshine.  And bad hand modeling.
Blurred a bit so you can see the oh-so-subtle holo, as opposed to the other blurred pics, which are just poor photography.

Okay, so.  I first saw this polish over on The Polish Aholic and I loved it.  For some reason, I had it in my head that it was a nice Kermit green with blue micro glitter.  When I got the bottle in the mail and saw the very muted holo, I went back to Jen's swatches and realized I'm an idiot I must have completely made up what I thought I saw.  And not read her description.  The subtle holo is much more apparent in the bottle; it hardly translates to the nail at all.   It doesn't matter, though, because I love this polish!  It's such a fun green, and it looks really good with my skin.  Great formula, too!  I used 2 coats for this mani.  Dude.  I just went to get the URL for llarowe so I could link to where I bought this, and ended up buying 2 more Enchanted Polishes.  It was almost 3, but I exercised some restraint.  We'll see how long that lasts.
